Markets, Learning, Hospitality, and Events With an Operating Plan

The public experience is intended to make the working parts of the campus legible without turning private operations into scenery. A visitor may encounter a market supplied by campus growers and makers, a demonstration on a trade floor, a food or beverage program operated by an independent tenant, an exhibition, a performance, or a scheduled tour of approved public zones. The value is in the connection between them: learning can be seen next to production, and production can meet a customer without leaving the site.

Programming is planned against the limits of the place. Event capacity is set by parking, egress, restrooms, staffing, security, weather planning, sound, and the continuing needs of tenants who are not part of the event. Public hours do not automatically make every zone public. Technology, water, cold storage, administration, residential, service-yard, and protected operational areas remain controlled even during a campus-wide program.

Nothing is marketed as open until an operating calendar, responsible producer, emergency plan, and ticketing or access method exist. Tours, markets, performances, and community days will each have their own published instructions. That separation keeps a visitor invitation from becoming an accidental invitation into a work area.
